Launched in 2013, the Symptoms of Happiness Tour is an ambitious project that combines art, music, and solidarity to raise awareness about multiple sclerosis and disability. Created and led by tenor Marco Voleri, the tour has become a cultural and emotional journey. Over seven years, it visited more than 30 cities across Italy and the world, including Spain, Greece, Japan, China, and the United States, engaging over 80 artists and touching the hearts of 12,000 spectators.
Each stop of the tour has been a special occasion: concerts and performances enriched by Marco’s personal testimony, sharing his life experience with strength and authenticity. With the participation of renowned artists like Peppe Vessicchio, Amanda Sandrelli, and Michele Mirabella, and collaborations with local and international associations, the tour has raised funds for sustainable disability projects, such as removing architectural barriers and supporting social inclusion programs.
From sacred music to folk and operatic pieces, every performance carried a universal message of hope and resilience, highlighting the transformative power of music. The tour has received significant institutional recognition, including endorsements from the Italian Multiple Sclerosis Association, the Italian Paralympic Committee, and the high patronage of the President of the European Parliament.
More than just a concert series, the Symptoms of Happiness Tour is a cultural movement using art to break down prejudice, overcome barriers, and promote a new vision of disability. Each stage is a step toward a more inclusive future, where music builds bridges between people, cultures, and experiences—proving that beauty can arise even from the greatest challenges.
